VIC: Mum reunited with bike riding son

A four-year-old Melbourne boy is back home this morning, after police picked him up having
a pre-dawn bike ride in his pyjamas and teddy bear slippers.

Concerned neighbours alerted police after the child was spotted riding his bicycle in
Centre Road, Berwick in south-eastern Melbourne at 5.40am.

Police picked him up and took him to Narre Warren police station.

They later took him on a ride around Berwick and he pointed out his house.

They say the four-year-old's mother had gone to a cleaning job at about 2 am, and he'd
slipped out for a joy ride on his bike while his teenage sisters slept.

As police were knocking on the door of his house, his mother returned home and they were
reunited, with the adventurous boy unaffected by his early morning adventure.
